William, Mary Ann and the children came across to Canada about 1840 / 41 with his father Oswald, who died shortly after arriving. William and Mary Ann were married in more likely in Cavan, Co. Ireland about 1833. Their second child Mary Ann was a Brittish subject and born in Northern Ireland in 1836. Harriet their fourth child was born in Flos Township, Simcoe County in 1842. I believe William was in Barrie, a lumber merchant, died of a heart attack and intestate. Mary Ann Hamilton had to apply for letters of administartion and shortly after his death she re-married Michael Rodgers, 20 years younger than her. They resided in Simcoe County in 1861 and seem to disappear. No search was continued on them. Sorry I couldn't help in this one for you.
