One more thread to add to this subject.... I have a John Shadrach Stevens married to Annie Mckay. They were married in Beeton, Ontario approx. 1860s or 1870s. Sons are Melvin, Fred, Milton, Ernest and Lorenzo ; daughters are Mabel, Laura and Florence. Do any of these sound familiar? Thanks Penny

Thanks for the information. John Shadrach Stephens is the son of Frederick (Fred) Smith Stephens. My great great grandfather was Alfred O. Stephens (1831-1900) John Shadrach's brother. I have John Shadrach Stephens married to Annie McKay, 2 May 1871, I have only one son listed, Frederick b. 1874 m. Nettie Taylor in 190- thanks for the rest. It is interesting that Lorenzo was with this branch of our family and may be the connection to my great uncle Albert Lorenzo Stephens..or they all liked the name Lorenzo.. I love this genealogy stuff.. the more you learn the more questions arise to investigate further! The Stephens family has a rich history. Thank you for sharing.
