    3. Tish, I doubt you will find on-line directories for that time period. Contact the Midland Library and see what they have. Also the Huronia Museum might be able to help. Last but not least, check with the Simcoe County Archives and see what is available. There are directories available for earlier time periods for the entire county, including all the little towns and villages but I am guessing that you are looking for something similar to what was published for large cities each year. They contained a whack of advertising but also a list of residents, occupations, places of residence and employment. I don't think they were produced for the smaller towns - at least I have never seen one for Penetang so it isn't likely they were published yearly for Midland either. I may be wrong and someone will surely correct me. I hope. What is it, in particular, you are looking for? There might be other ways of finding it. Penetang has some great municipal records for that time period - water bill payments listing street addresses and names, the conveyance register which gives legal descriptions of property, the owners and the liens and mortgages registered against them. And it even includes the horses and cows that were mortgaged. Our volunteer, Deb Crawford is in the process of transcribing this record but she has already indexed the water bill payment register. But I digress........... Let us know what you want to know. Pam

    3. Thanks to Pam. I have no proof as yet, but I am looking for an Edith Matilda VALE, and wonder if she might not have been married in England, or was a war bride from there, during the 1st War. I can find no marriage record in Ontario through Ancestry, of even the IGI, and not any death record either. I know she was in Ontario, Simcoe Co. in the early 1920s. Her mother and brother were in Midland in the early 1920s, and am hoping that someone can come up with her husband's name, or the place of their abode. Thanks so much for answering, Pam.
