    1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Hale and Spurr families

    3. Hi Pam: I don't have a connection to this family but I thought I would see if I could get some more information to add to the family in hopes that someone might recognize the details and see a connection somewhere. On Harry Hale's marriage registration, he names George Hale and Clara Kibble as his parents. Actually, on the 1891 UK census in Ormskirk, Lancashire, the parents are George and Mary. I found Mary on the Free BMD's and she died in the December quarter of 1899 at the age of 33. Marion Hale was born in the June quarter of 1891 so I think all the children must have had Mary as their mother. Since the children were so young when their mother died, they probably considered Clara as their mother. George Hale married Clara Kibble in the June quarter of 1902 in Ormskirk. Here is the family on the 1901 census in Ormskirk. HALE George, Widower, age 34, b. Ormskirk, Clothier/Shopkeeper Harry, age 11, born Ormskirk Edward, age 10 Charles F., age 6 George, age 4 Marion, age 2 Clara KIBBLE, age 23, b. Warrington (she is at home with her parents in 1891 in Warrington), Housekeeper Alice MEADOWS, age 15, B. Skelmersdale, General Servant (Domestic) I checked the SPURR family also. On the 1891 census, Ada/Aida is at home with her family in Aughton, (Ormskirk Union), Lancashire. Here are the details. SPURR John C., age 39, b. Middleton Sarah, age 38, b. Ormskirk Margaret F., age 13 George, age 11 John C., age 10 Aida A., age 3 William H., age 2 All children born in Liverpool, Lancashire John Charles Spurr and Sarah ROBINSON were married in the March quarter of 1877 in the Liverpool registration district. Hope this helps someone recognize these families.
