Hi Pam,I am new to CAN-ONT-SIMCOE, only joining last week, I am interested in the family photo exchange and your museum. I am a descendant of Jethro Robins and Ellen Perloo (Perronette), I have pictures of my great grand parents William Henry Robins b1868 and Edith Irena Jennings b1869, both of Medonte Township. What I am wondering is do you have pictures of any of their ancestors. I would be more than willing to email you pictures of William and Edith and their children, I have a few of my great aunt over the years. Where is your museum and do you know if there is information on the Robins (Robbins) and their family Thank you for your help Regards Susan ( Robbins) Bluer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Pam Tessier" <pamtessier@sympatico.ca> To: <can-ont-simcoe@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, July 15, 2007 7:13 AM Subject: Re: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Family Portrait Exchange > Hello Murray, > > I can't speak for all archives but our museum certainly does accept > photos and the Research Centre in particular is always happy to receive > them. Hi Susan, You would have to direct your question about specific pictures to our curator. For now, search the database on-line at www.pencenmuseum.com. The Penetanguishene Centennial Museum & Archives is located at 13 Burke Street in Penetang. Call 705-549-2150 today 12-4:30 or Monday to Saturday 9-4:30. If Paul Robbins is up this early (betcha he is!) he will reply to your question on the Robbins family. If he is still in bed at noon, let me know. He has been very generous to us over the years and has made us a gift of much of his research. Pam >
I am a descendant of Jethro (ROB(B)INS) and Ellen Perloo (Perronette), I have pictures of my great grand parents William Henry Robins b1868 and Edith Irena Jennings b1869, both of Medonte Township. **************************************************************************************** Just want you to know that I have the complete tree branch of Jethro - could you please adivse me if Thomas JAMES ROB(B)INS born 1815, married to Betsy is Jethro's brother. Ron C. Johnston
As an added note, to anyone looking for HISTORICAL PHOTOS, be sure and check in with the HURONIA MUSEUM, Little Lake Park, MIDLAND, Ontario. They may have something of interest to you. In years past, I have personally directed a good number of Family Photos to them, which they will share, for a small fee. All of this ( mind you ) in the days before I knew about the Simcoe List, or the PENETANGUISHENE MUSEUM. They have, by my direction, copies of many of the AMOS ARKSEY DIARIES 1860+ AND THE ORIGINAL Mary Jane Copeland Arksey Photo Album, with pristine copies of many of George Copeland's Descendants. They also have a lot of photos of MIDLAND, GROWING UP .. WHICH ARE OF INTEREST. Between Midland, and Penetang, there is MUCH, to be recovered, of interest. GOOD LUCK and HAPPY HUNTING.
