Robin and others:- As my FARQUHAR ancestors were born in Aberdeen and nearby places, I have been interested in researching the early background and have done very well -- http://homepages@rootsweb.com/~downhome/ I did my research in Liverpool, Nova Scotia -- and I am certain it is called Old Scottish records. The curator of the Thomas H. Raddall Centre is Linda Rafuse rafusela@gov.ns.ca I did other research at a Mormon centre and they had the same type of records. Also, there is no cost except for printing. The records go back very far -- looking forward to more research August 8 to 21 -- more later about that. Muriel - list admin ----- Original Message ----- Hi Does anyone know of a way to find early baptism and marriage records in Scotland. Ancestry doesn't have much and the only thing I have found are private researchers or pay per view sites. I am willing to pay a subscription for access but the pay per view is not good unless you have a very uncommon name. I went through heaps of pay per view and all it did was cost me money with no results. I am searching prior to 1820. Thanks Robin
