    3. Georgina .. I have seen this before. It is my understanding that these were small lots, considerably less than the usual 100-200 acres, given to decommissioned soldiers, after a length of service. I pulled up a map, one time, to find where " some-of-mine " were living .. but can't say exactly where I got it. WAYNE COOK'S SITE comes to mind. Look there under Township maps. In my records they ARE LISTED AS ' ordinance lots ' . My Ancestor, JAMES SMITH, had freehold title to four " Ordinance Lots " which totalled 88 acres. So gather that the discharged soldier was given perhaps 20 acres .. a place to build his own shanty !!!!!!!! I stand for correction . if I am wrong. This is only my "spin" on it. In the Drummond Island info, and on birth recoords, I have run across reference to residence "Park Lot" and "Military Reserve" both in Tiny Does anyone know exactly where these are?
