In Agincourt, Ontario, there was a Al Batty or Baty, too. He would be in his 90's now. I have located my ancestor in the index to the 1871 Simcoe census, but would very much appreciate knowing who else is listed in his household and the particulars of the household. My ancestor was Thomas Batty. Census citation is: Hi Nancy The name "Batty" caught my attention right away . My Aunt Sarah Selina Tate and husband Joseph or Orillia, Simcoe County, Ontario, had no children of their own for whatever reason but they did have a British Home Child from about 1909 to 1913 or so ( dates from memory). She was Elsie Dorothy Batty born England . A British Home Child who had a sister but I can't remember the name. Sarah Selina wanted very much to adopt this little one but it was not to be. Her mother picked her up and from there I know nothing. This little information came from the Barnardo Home in England. I have been hoping to find descendents Batty. From the pictures I have she was a well loved happy little girl. I will look up the 1871 for you but it may take a day or so. Rob McGinn in Thunder Bay
