    3. Well, here we go again with another piece of Barrie's History being lost to generations yet to come. Our only hope is that if it gets sold that the new owners have some sense of pride and dignity of such a treasured building. Barrie has lost so much in recent years it would be such a shame to lose this too. Does anyone know if Lount's Castle, which was I believe built in the 1890's, has historical designation or is this another one that will end up like the Steele's Gift Shop?!? Thanks for any feedback :) Chris N

    3. For anyone interested, GOOGLE .. Lount's Castle .. Will bring up the whole, current story. The first one brings up a picture of the (original) castle, and a price . But ......NOWHERE that you may buy it !!!! Had an occasion, over 50 years ago, to visit Folks living in part of the house. Even then it had been broken up into Apartments. The third floor was a glorious Ballroom, as I remember, and hadn't been altered, at that time. Other pictures, via Google, show it as it is today . A rather pale image !!! One has to hope that someone, with a pail of money, could step in and restore it to its original Glory !!! But, then maybe, it is destined for the dump, like the Old Fire House, on Collier at Mulcaster !!!!!!!!!! Paul Robins -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] ...
