    1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] military questions
    2. Georgiana Webster
    3. I don't know whether this will shed any light on the "military question". but thought I would send it anyway. During World War II, a cousin of mine was in the army. He became a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Infantry Corp, but at that time they did not have enough men for his position. He as given the option of going on "temporary permanent leave,", until they needed him, or tranferring to the British Army. He chose the British army, and was serving as a CANLOAN Officer with the Durham Light Infantry, when, shortly after D-day he stepped on a mine near Caen, France. He is buried at Hottot-les-Bagues War Cemetery, Calvados, France. Just thought maybe the person you were asking about, might have had a similar option, after his training. If they did this also in World War I. Georgiana
