If the person is male, it should be written in the masculine "dit", such as my 6g-grandfather, Joseph-Jacques Payant dit Saintonge; if the person is female, it should be written in the feminine "dite", such as Joseph-Jacques wife, my 6g-grandmother, Jeanne-Anne-Genevieve Legris dite Lepine. But that rule only applies if proper grammar and syntax are still relevant.
