LDS has microfilms with births to a later date and you would have to go to one of their Libraries to view. I found a few bits that might help: 1861 Canada Census for Simcoe shows the following PAYNE family: David - b. 1809 in England, Farmer - Anglican Sophia - b. 1812 - " - W. Methodist George - b. 1843 - " Mary A. - b. 1844 - " John W. - b. 1847 - Ontario Uriah - b. 1849 - " Sarah C. b. 1853 " S.M. - b. 1855 " The 1871 Canada Census shows the child noted a S.M. was called Mathilda, and the family religion Wesleyan Methodist. There was a Harvie family living adjacent to the Payne family in this Census. Sophia Mathilda Payne age 28 of South Orillia, daughter of David & Sophia Payne married on March 18, 1884 at Prices' Corners, South Orillia to Charles Harvie, age 30, son of Charles & Marion Harvie of South Orillia. The 1881 Canada Census shows Sophia living with her parents, who were born in England, in Matchedash & Orillia, Simcoe North, Ontario. George Payne married Eleanor Wylie 17 Jun 1890, Simcoe John William Payne married Ruth Middleton 5 Sep 1873, Simcoe; & Maria Browne on 28 June 1882; & Jennie Downs on 19 Jan 1886 Uriah Payne married Naomi Middleton 5 Sep 1873, Simcoe; & Catherine Anderson on 21 Dec 1904 Sarah C. Payne married William Walker Russell 17 Apr 1878, Simcoe If you check the 1901 and 1911 Canada Census it will show the children of the above couples. See: www.automatedgenealogy.com Cheers!
