Hello John, I use the following site. www.waynecook.com/zessa.html Regards, Richard ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Ausman" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 09, 2009 9:55 AM Subject: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Essa Township Hello folks: I just joined this list and am wondering if anyone is familiar with early pioneers in Essa. I am researching the (Alexander, then John) Stewart family that settled on Concession 10 Lot 2. Would anyone know when that area was first settled? I found no land petitions for a Stewart in Essa Twp in the Land records at the National Archives. Does this mean that at some point people just bought land without petitioning the colonial govermnment for it?
