Hello everone, Because I am asked about this so frequently, I have written up where you can look for existing passenger records to Canada before 1865. There are *no* comprehensive lists of immigrants arriving in Canada prior to 1865. Until that year, shipping companies were not required by the government to keep their passenger manifests. There is a 2-column "chart" at http://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/canada/ which gives a comprensive list of ALL available ships passenger lists for Canada both online and offline. One side of the chart is for Shipos arriving before 1865, the other side for ships arriving after 1865. Links are provided on the chart for ALL online records - most are free, a few are pay-to-view Here are some individual projects and databases online that maybe of help in your search: * Ships passenger lists for Peter Robinson Settlers sailing1825 Ireland to Canada are online at http://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/canada/PeterRobinson.shtml This includes extracts from Surgeon's Log Books and Lists of names from LAC microfilm * There are a few surviving passenger lists which were kept by shipping agents in the originating country.
