    1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] Early Council minutes.

    3. I thought some on this list might enjoy the following, particularly as the township in question is now a part of Simcoe: I am working on a book which provides the history of Ontario County (which has since been discontinued and broken up.) It contains chapters on the origins of each of its townships, and the report on the second meeting to this particular town council contains an extract from the minutes to the effect that the second council meeting was held in the township schoolhouse and: … it adjourned at noon for one hour to meet afterwards at the Traveler's Rest. The clerk parenthetically remarks that the "old boys found the school a dry sort of place." There was no further report on the outcome of the afternoon session. A touch of reality in public records. :) Malcolm Archive CD Books Canada Inc. President: Malcolm Moody PO Box 11 Manotick Ontario, K4M 1A2 Canada. 3. I would suspect that the afternoon session was livelier than the morning session then......
