In the past week there has been a lot of traffic re Dunn. Maybe I missed the original question but which Dunn family are we looking for? I do have Dunn people married into my lines but I have not researched them indepth. I believe one of the earlier members could be James Dunn / Elizabeth Flynn. Another note I have, look at the Rootsweb, world connect, bring up a file Gosden-Ball and there are 131 Dunn personages there. The lady who put the information on line is deceased but her work has been left up. She is not related to the names I was told. The Dunn people from Essa married into the McKnight line, the Erwin / Irwin line and also Blakely to name a few. Are these one's you are intrested in? A young daughter of David Dunn is buried Nicolston Cemetery. It is in shambles but what was left OGS and Branch people I understand saved what they could. No plot maps survive. In the Alliston Cemetery there are 49 member of the Dunn Family interred there by the work of Helen Wanless through OGS. The original James is there C7 plot 479. Now for the early ones, they could have been unearthed in Nicolston and buried in Alliston, so if the right records are found, both would be correct. There is a Dunn family buried in Beeton. There is also an early Dunn buried Emmanuel United Church Cemetery [Bond Head] in West Gwillumbury. [born 1799] In reference to Ancestry - they have not all the records in Canada. The Church of the Latter Day Saints also collect information and place on line. Ancestry is paid for information and LDS is donated or Member given. So if either of this criteria has not been met per the Dunn quest, there is a third option. Information regarding the now United Church for the Essa area does survive in some form. A lady whom I am related to gave me the baptism information on my Latimer lines in the 1840's. Her and her husband drove some 4,000 miles to Toronto and up into Essa Twp, but it was located. The third option is the old way, strip tape. The books have been filmed and may be available through the United Church people in Toronto or give a try to the LDS people, ask what is available for the area, order the films, when they arrive at one of their Family Centres, go in and review all the entries. There is also a lady who is on this list who does review tapes BMD whom may I may have missed her remarks. She does wonderful work and would be able to point you also in the right direction. I see some others have made suggestions to you on this forum, please take them to heart as they are very knowledgeable people who can steer you in the right direction re the Dunn quest. Good Luck Chris
