Sunnidale township and Nottawasaga townships amalgamated and became Clearview township sometime before 2000. I think Glencairn is at the edge of old Sunnidale township to the north and Tosorontio township to the south. Everett (Tosorontio township) and Glencairn are just north and northwest of Alliston, all in Simcoe County. Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: "D.O. Also Ron, I've come across several references to Sneath in the Vespra township book, and also through Ourroots.ca. Apparently some of this Sneath family went out west around 1890+. 7th line cemetery might be what is now called Wilson Drive. It runs from Anten Mills at the top and turns into Ferndale Road right at the intersection of Sunnidale road. The cemetery is just below the intersection of Wilson Drive and Carson Road. I believe Wayne Cook has the transcriptions for this cemetery on his website at: waynecook.com Go to Tombstone Territory, then select Christ Church Vespra. She may in the burial records if you can find who has them, but there are 2 Sneath family members listed. Nancy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron C. Hi Ron, My husband's earliest known Davidson ancestor was James Davidson 1790-1861 (family said to be originally Scottish, but he was born in Ireland). James & first wife Agnes Johnston came to Canada 1826, 1830 or 1836 (depending on who you ask) and settled in the south part of Caledon Township, Peel County. They had at least 7 children and he is said to have had two more with his second wife. The family scattered and there are a few branches I've never been able to track down. I was contacted by someone up your way a few years back, but didn't hear from them again after sending some outlines. I don't have any notes on a Dorothy Davidson, but suppose it is possible that there is come connection. The Adjala-Tosorontio Cemetery book - published in 2000 - identifies the cemetery as ... "Glencairn Cemetery - 9034 Webster Road, Glencairn Village Tosorontio Township (formerly in Sunnidale Township)" So it appears there has been a boundary change in that area, some time previous to 2000. Glencairn is close to the northern boundary of Tosorontio, with Sunnidale being immediately north. The Simcoe County OGS website confirms the boundary change and gives the location of the Glencairn cemetery as Tosorontio Township.
