Checked...rechecked every possible spelling variation I could think of...nothing yet. One of these days it will pop out at me. Between the Corbetts and hubby's Vasseur side, they are keeping me busy with dead ends. Thanks for all your help Heather, I do appreciate it!! Regards, Chris N P.S. They were at Cons 6 Lot 25/26 and in 1876 Samuel Corbett was at Cons 6 E1/2 19.

David Corbett and his wife Isabella (probably Cunningham) were my grandfathers grandparents. It is believed they came from County Down, Ireland. I have information on their daughter Isabella (who married Richard Pearson) and their decendants, but not having any luck finding anything else. From my childhood I recall relatives named Cunningham so I think there were other family who came to Simcoe County with them. Now I remember, I went through the film of missed registrations etc. I know you have been through all the transcripts for the area. You are probably right about the double blow and forgetting to register the death. Any inquest I have seen have been reported by the coroner. Yes, I'm still seaching for "proof" that Samuel was a brother or relative to David and John, being as they lived so close to each other. Also still trying to find a death registration and or buriel place for Samuel Sr. who died in Aug of 1892 to no avail. Samuel Sr. is my brickwall that will not crack. Hello all, Those with ancestors in the Lefroy area may wish to check this site: http://www.lefroyunited.ca/ The pdf file of the church history has older photos of Lefroy and the text contains many surnames connected with the church, especially interesting to those with Presbyterian or Methodist ancestors from the area. If you do not have Lefroy connections, this is still a good read for a history of a typical small village church and contains many historical tidbits.
