    3. I am searching for the family of Adam FISHER. They emigrated from Scotland in 1855. His daughter Jane married Aaron BRINTNELL in 1861 or 1864, allegedly in Drayton. 1. [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] McDermids of Nottawasaga
    2. Wanda McDermid
    3. Hi Lorne:. I have these McDermids in my research. There were 2 McDermid families who settled in Nottawasaga. The ones you mention I call the 6th line McDermids and the others ones I call 10th line McDermids. They were not really related until one married a McDermid girl from the 10th line. As with every family it gets complicated and confusing. Thankyou for the info and for replying. Every little bit helps. Wanda --------------------------------- All new Yahoo! 3. Hi Lorne I am interested in your McDougall family. My mother's sister, Lucy Gossling, married Allan McDougall. Allan's father was Archibald McDougall. The 1911 census lists Archibald McDougall, born 1875, and wife Rose with two children, Mary and Allan. Allan granddaughter is going to publish a collection of Lucy's writing describing her childhood. It would be wonderful if we could include more McDougall family history Ron Wingrove -----Original Message----- From: can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:can-ont-simcoe-bounces@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of J Lorne Campbell Sent: Sunday, October 21, 2007 7:13 AM To: can-ont-simcoe@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CAN-ONT-SIMCOE] McDermid of Nottawasaga Hi Wanda, I have a two McDERMID families who lived in Nottawasaga and wonder if you have any connection: 1)Archibald McDermid b. c1836, Scotland, son of Alex McDermid and Ann McNab, married Mary McDOUGALL c1836-1906 daughter of Duncan McDougall and Ann Currie. 2)Alexander McDermid 1862-1937, married Isabella McArthur 1865-1936, daughter of Archibald McArthur and Ann Buie. 3. Hi Heather, Things are much simpler there than they used to be. You just go to the receptionist and she'll do it for you. Things are computerized, back to so many years (11 years rings a bell)....you just need the Lot & Concession #, or registered plan #, and the name of the present owner....and for about $8.00 they can supply you with a printout. But......for 1890 you might have to pay to get out the old registry books for the property, and scan backwards entry by entry, at their office.....the old way. The property tax records might help you narrow down a year, and they are at the archives on microfilm.
