Carole ..... I sincerely endorse inclusion of the name of JOPIE LOUGHEAD in your proposed Inclusion for Recognition in ' THE ORDER OF COLLINGWOOD ' . Jopie, bless her, was instrumental in my acquiring information ( of which I was in search ) on more than one ANCESTOR, and for this I say " THANKS, JOPIE ". We were in regular contact, as long as she was physically able. Unfortunately, I have not had the acquaintance of OWEN NOBLE !! BUT, anyone who gives of themselves, for the betterment, or knowledge of others, RECEIVES MY ENDORSEMENT !!!!!!! IF, the ORDER OF COLLINGWOOD forwards periodic e-mails, of interest, kindly include my name. Paul A. I have sent Carole a letter supporting her nomination and stating the reasons I feel they are deserving of this award. Since I know that Jopie and Owen have helped many people with their research, I thought maybe some of you would like to send notes or letters to Carole Stuart supporting her nomination. If you feel you would like to do this, please e-mail her at: cstuart@town.collingwood.on.ca Thanks so much for reading this. I have some info on William and Mary Ann Hamilton's son William Herbert Swan and their children, grandchildren, etc. The 1900 census shows that William and Rosa had 6 children, 5 alive but I only have names for 4 of their children: Charlotte ( how married Cyrus Clark), James Alvin, John H. and Robert E. I will have to assume that the other child who surved was a daughter and got married, thus my inability to find her since she fell inbetween the 1800 and 1900census records! I will be happy to share what little I have if you don't already have this info. Also, have you any info on Wm. Herbert's wife Rosa Dunnigan, who was also born in Canada, I would assume in the same area where the Swan family were from. Thanks so much for your help. My friend is very excited to find out so much about her ancestors! Julie S. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hi: I have a George Hazelton who married Elizabeth Stone in my Family Tree. They had 2 daughters, Sarah J. (1874-1945) and Maggie Lucinda. Sarah was married to John Henry Belfry, a distant relative of mine. Both are buried in Midland, Ontario. William, Mary Ann and the children came across to Canada about 1840 / 41 with his father Oswald, who died shortly after arriving. William and Mary Ann were married in more likely in Cavan, Co. Ireland about 1833. Their second child Mary Ann was a Brittish subject and born in Northern Ireland in 1836. Harriet their fourth child was born in Flos Township, Simcoe County in 1842. I believe William was in Barrie, a lumber merchant, died of a heart attack and intestate. Mary Ann Hamilton had to apply for letters of administartion and shortly after his death she re-married Michael Rodgers, 20 years younger than her. They resided in Simcoe County in 1861 and seem to disappear. No search was continued on them. Sorry I couldn't help in this one for you. Their son William Herbert was married to Rosa Dunnigan in 1878. (All I have is that her father was Michael Dunnigan, from her death record) They settled in Eaton County, Michigan. Do you have any information on her family? I have been finding quite a bit online about William's family (father William, grandfather Oswald) but don't have much on the wives. Do you have any info on Mary Ann Hamilton's parents and when and where she and William Swan were married. Was it in Ontario? I am working on the Swan family tree for a friend. Thank you, Julie S.
