Hi Ann and Brenda Try the North Meols Family History Society in Lancashire, England at www.nmfhssouthport.co.uk My maternal grandmother's people all came from there. It was an insular community with many intermarriages. They settled in Banks, Grey County, at the top of the mountain, just west of Collingwood in c1872. There are MANY BALLS in North Meols. Church records, BMDs back to the late 1500's, exist. I have the BALL extracts. Give me an immigrant's name. Hi Jopie Loughhead was a great support as I searched my Simcoe County roots. She sent me details of their settlement and many newspaper clippings over more than a decade. Hi List Members: Carole Stuart of the Collingwood Library has put forth the names of Jopie LOUGHEAD (posthumously) and Owen NOBLE to be considered for the honour of the Order of Collingwood for all their hard work and contributions they have made to the local history and genealogy in the area.
