    3. Thank you so much for this wonderful link to ancestral information. I spent several days in 2007 at the Barrie Public Library and I knew that they had many microfilms on births, marriages and deaths. This new index is another valuable resource to researchers - especially those like me who are many miles away. Thanks to all involved! Veniece Vent Lovell Provo, Utah [email protected]

    3. The 1891 Canada Census shows a Robert Hislop living in Stayner; he was born in Scotland about 1831, a widower, Methodist and living with his brother Alexander Hislop, age 62. There were many persons in the 1891 Census of Canada with the surname Hislop/Hyslop but there was no Robert or Helen who showed living in Manitoba. The spelling on the birth registration for the child of Eneas and Jessie (Hislop) McAuley is given as Macaulay so you might want to also look under that spelling for future searches. ... Cheers! 3. The 1881 Canada Census shows an Eneas Macaulay married to a Jessie with three sons listed, living in Simcoe. See: www.automatedgenealogy.com Ontario birth registrations (#015699)for 1870 show the birth of a Charles Macaulay on 16 June 1870 to Eneas Macaulay and Jessie Hislop of Stayner. I could not locate a marriage for Eneas and Jessie but as this was a Methodist marriage perhaps the record was not filed with the Province of Ontario. The 1891 and 1900 Census of Manitoba don't show an entry for this couple - that I could find. Cheers!
