Hi Listers, We are pleased to announce that we have arranged to have many of our Canadian genealogy and history books available on World Vital Records (WVR). WVR has recently expanded their holdings to include a "World Collection" which introduces genealogical materials from outside the USA. This includes materials from places such as Great Britain, Australia and, of course, Canada. We have realized for quite some time that some Canadian researchers would prefer to get access to their information through an on-line service. The presence of a large portion of our materials on this service is the culmination of many months of behind the scenes work. We have (currently) placed 81 of our products on-line and intend to increase this number as time goes on - and as we understand better what you want to see there. All these products (books on CD), and new products, will remain available through our on-line store if you want to own a personal copy of the data. Those of you who have our CDs will appreciate that having the data on a CD does make access easier, more convenient, and - because of technical limitations with files downloaded on-line - the picture images on the CD are superior. (This can become significant in the case of detailed pictures like maps - for instance.) We are working to include a link to WVR for every book in our on- line catalogue we have placed with them, although this is a long process and will probably take us weeks to complete. (See our product CA0104, Lovell's Gazetteer of North America - 1874, for example.) In the meantime you will find a general link to the WVR web site prominently on our front page as well as on a number of other pages within our web site. You will, of course, need a subscription to actually access the WVR materials. Don't forget you need the "World Collection" subscription to access the Canadian material. For those of you with Australian connections, our partner company - Archive CD Books Australia - have also joined WVR and have over 300 of their books on-line. WVR are actively enlarging their collection of books and databases and new material is coming on-line all the time. You can access our web site by following the link shown in my sig. line below.
