    3. To all:- Remember our excitement last June 28, 2005 when the census records from 1911 to 2001 were released - at 92-year intervals. That was the date CENSUS RECORDS stopped being political and started being GENEALOGY - our records of the past. I have been transcribing a great deal in Shelburne County, Nova Scotia and tried to get a message to people who might be subscribed to that list -- my memo was returned. I know many of the surnames (more than in Queens County) and one needs to know these as we try to decipher calligraphic or cramped writing -- I prefer the first even if it has extra embellishments! The last page I have finished this evening is the following: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/Test2.jsp?sdid=2476 My message the other evening concerned Line 10 with many INMATES -- some old, some children and these could be missing people of your genealogy and family history. Should anyone be able to assist me to replace the ?? with letters, I would be appreciative -- only the one who has claimed the page may work on it - a security device against scammers. We are able to LINK to the 1901 census, which I have yet to do. Many more pages are needing YOUR assistance http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ http://automatedgenealogy.com/index.html One has to use email address as userid plus a password, and I would recommend a page not be claimed until 50 lines are done -- many have claimed unfinished pages with 1 to 4 lines. As soon as the page is claimed the information goes directly to Library and Archives Canada and the site is Canada-wide. It is an easy way to locate someone (providing the pages are transcribed) then one may search the Ontario GenWeb, the images or view the microfiche at a library. Let's finish the transcribing before estimated time of August, 2006. Many thanks to two working partners, Jenny from Texas! and Marlene Kasstan -- they often see what I miss! We are hoping Shelburne and Queens will be next 100% list. Hopefully someone will pass this message on to the CAN-NS-SHELBURNE-L@rootsweb.com mail list. Muriel M.
