It was supposed to have been held July 4, 1874 in Alton,Peel County, but I can find no record of it. I have checked and double checked the Indexes to Marriage Registrations from the Ontario Archives, and checked the actual marriage registration reels for Peel County from 1872-1877 in case they were missed in the indexing process or the year was wrong, with no luck. I have checked the Alton Church records at the United Church Archives and cannot find it there either. The only record I have found is on two separate delayed birth registrations for two of their sons, who were registered in the 1920's, by which time both parents were dead. Sarah Elizabeth's mother was the informant on these registrations and gave that date and place of marriage (but this was ~50 years after the fact, and she was in her 90's at the time). Anyone have any ideas where else to look? James EASSON was from Scotland (born1850) and had only been in Canada at most 2 years when he married. Sarah Elizabeth was born in Caledon in 1856.
