for those looking at land records here are two suggestions. Ontario Genealogy Society has the Index for the Upper Canada land books (1787 to 1841). This will give the settelers name and the film to order for additional data. Just purchased it a few weeks ago, myself. The other is http://digital.library.mcgill.ca/countyatlas/searchpeople.php This is an on line atlas you can search by surname and will show a small map showing the location of the property. Now if I can get this out without vista killing it!
