Hi, I have been looking at 1851 Census material and would like to know where "Chinguacousy, County of Peel, Ward #4 of Said Township" would be located. It's the 'Ward #4' that throws me. Thanks for any help! Gay

Hi Gay, First I assume you realize that the "Ward #4" identifies the location in terms of the municipal records and census poles and would help to locate the entry in the appropriate municipal and census records. The "Ontario Locator" web site <http://www.geneofun.on.ca/db.php> shows the following: "Geographic Location* : Chinguacousy Township, Peel County Municipal Location* : Other Location: Part of the city of Brampton and the town of Caledon " so I guess it must be Ward #4 of "the city of Brampton and the town of Caledon."
