    3. Hi, I have again gone through the 1851 census images and there were five wards for Chinguacousy, up to the Caledon Township line. It would appear that Ward 4 included the Concessions 2,3,4,5, & 6 East of Centre Road (Hurontario) from lot 18 (Mayfield Road) to 34 (Caledon Town Line). Brampton included Wards 1 and 2 plus 'two concessions for Lots 1 to 34'. Ward 5 appears to have been bounded by the Town of Caledon line, 1st Concession line West of Centre Road; and on the south, the (?) River running along lots 17 and 18 in the Twp of Chinguacousy, and the Twp of Esquesing on the west. The rest is left to Ward 3 - wherever that is! As Jane suggested I have emailed Brian Gilchrist and will see if he can shed additional light on this. I'll post any pertinent reply back to the list so someone else doesn't go through all these images! Thanks for your replies, Jane and Malcolm! Gay
