    3. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/NOVA-SCOTIA To all:- One person started a very lengthy but interesting discussion as she wondered if Nova Scotia was one of the American colonies. Yes - as one part of North America, we would be just that -- but we call ourselves Canadians north of the 49th! Believe it or not, when my granddaughter attended university in Bournemouth, England, there were two signs together and mileage NEW YORK - NORTH AMERICA TORONTO - CANADA Enjoy the reading on the archived site above -- we learned much about the Norsemen, Vikings, and others who helped to settle Canada. 2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. To all:- I do not know why, but I have received about 500 messages stating this person or that person has been unsubscribed or were removed from the lists. Knowing about the advertised pending virus, I dumped all messages - knowing that next week we will know who is still online. Personally, I did this for my own protection as messages can be copied from other than the one supposedly sending them. The SUBSCRIBE ones were placed in their folder -- and will check to see if the Rootsweb computer subscribed them. Hope all will understand why I dumped unknown messages -- 500 were too many for one day. Muriel -- List Admin

    1. What Will Happen to Pages Without 50 Lines?
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. To all:- When you are transcribing our long-awaited 1911 Canadian census, can you imagine you are making something and all pieces must be the same size -- or else the "thing" can not be constructed? Have you looked over transcribed census pages and found many pages with a "50" beside the name -- meaning 50 Lines. These pages would all fit in the item called OUR 1911 Canadian Census. Then we find pages with 2, 5, even 23 lines with a name beside them. What will happen to these uneven and incorrect size pages? There is data on many pages as I have checked -- there are ways of doing this, using some old printer skills, etc. When a page has only 23 lines, on the 24th line delete the family name and house number, NOT the line number. Then click on SUBMIT until you reach 51, BEFORE you claim the page. I know the original instructions say to claim page at 1 or 2 lines, PLEASE change this information to above. If anyone has transcribed pages, please check and see if YOU committed making an uneven size page -- the same size is there for a reason. Should anyone desire further instruction, private emails only -- also, due to poor handwriting, I am one of a group - we check our work. Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca Co-Chair, Canada Census Committee Brampton, ON -- formerly Nova Scotia

    1. I Never Knew Some of These Cemeteries Eisted!
    2. Muriel M. Davidson
    3. A special welcome to all newcomers -- I just finished checking to see all were subscribed - also released mail. While at Brampton Cemetery yesterday to see about a tombstone and what one can do re a cemetery plot, I was given a copy of the Brampton By-Laws - Interesting. The residents of Brampton know the location of the Brampton Cemetery and the Main Street North Cemetery -- how about these: Old Zion (Bertrams); Fourth Line (Huttonville Cemetery); Old Methodist (Old Grahamsville); Mount Zion Cemetery; Alloa Cemetery; Snell Cemetery; Hilltop-Gore Cemetery; Shiloh Cemetery; Woodhill Cemetery; Cheyne Cemetery; Lundys Cemetery; Mount Olivet Cemetery; Harrison United Church Cemetery; Page Cemetery; Rice Estate; Zion Cemetery; Grahamsville Cemetery; St. Mary's Tullamore Cemetery; St. John's Castlemore Cemetery; St. John's Snelgrove Cemetery. If anyone does not know the location of cemeteries, the addresses are with the City of Brampton Bylaws. At present I have been working with a group to index the closed cemeteries, ones being used plus private burial sites in my native Queens County, Nova Scotia. [I well remember the mosquito bites]. At present we are still waiting for names of those buried on Port Mouton Island. Muriel M. Davidson muriel_davidson@sympatico.ca List Admin of above lists.
