    1. [Grey Co.] Peter KEITH - Census 1861
    2. I have recently found an 1861 listing for the above and Gilbert KEITH (who I believe is a brother of Peter) in the townsip of Egremont, County of Grey. It was located towards the end of film reel C1026. The question I have is the way the occupations are listed and the home and families in the home. First, Peter KEITH is listed as farmer and Gilbert KEITH is listed as labourer. Is the 'farmer' basically the one that runs the farm and the labourer is the 'assistant'? It also says that there 2 members of the family, so I would assume Peter and Gilbert. But, when it states the type of home being log & one story, it says that two families live in the home. Could the next family listed as GILLIES be the second family? The reason I ask is that Alexander GILLIES is listed as labourer right below the KEITH's. Alexander's wife is Flora, so I am wondering if there is a connection between the KEITH's and GILLIES. Just a shot in the dark. Does anyone on the list have any ideas? I look forward to your replies and thoughts. Brad Calgary, Alberta
