Hi cindy, Owen Sound only got dial phones in the 1950's. Before that, all calls were handled by an operator. I remember our home phone # was something like 1561J. It is possible that in order to call your grandfather, one would call Mr. Farmer who would pass on the message. Is that of any help to you? Ed
