Greetings, John George HAY, b. April 7, 1855 in Woodstock, Ontario, son of James HAY and Jessie BAIN HAY, natives of Scotland, married Maud MERRITT, dau. of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas MERRITT, on January 17, 1883 at Norwich, Ontario. John HAY was a furniture manufacturer with his brother-in-law under the name of BAIN and HAY in Woodstock, then founder and honorary president of North American Bent Chair Company in Owen Sound, Ontario.
