There is some mention in my family stories that Jane BOWES, born about 1836, wife of James CREIGHTON was blind. I have found the family with 8 children in Owen Sound on the 1871 census and 1881 census online. Can anyone tell me whether checking the actual census (1881 or 1891) would show extra information that might tell me whether Jane actually was blind? (I found her husband James on the 1901 census, but he is a widower.) Or, though I don't know yet when Jane died (before 1901), would her death certificate give this sort of information? Thanks!
