Hi Larry Awhile back there was a discussion about posting newer marriages to the list. Where as unscrupulous character might try obtaining all parties information and try obtaining fradulant credit cards, etc. Please see the following posts..Also my reasons why not to post information which falls in line with the 99 year rule. I'm just trying to protect the rights of living relatives. I would suspect that Mastercard would be checking for more background information (ie. credit history) of a person than their parents' or grandparents' names. I'm sure that someone applying for their first credit card 100 years after their parents were married would certainly be suspect! I don't see the harm in posting these marriages, but if others object, I will not post any more. I'm sure everyone is pleased that you are doing such a great service transcribing these items. A friend once sent me privately a transcription of a marriage with the following notation: >I originally hesitated to send this transcription along since it is well within the 99 year rule of privacy. Please use it accordingly. I'm sure if we follow the pattern of the census releases the transcriptions will be fine. later list mom Ida
that thought does not apply as it is easier to get info from graveyards than on posting obits. there is no birth dates or other info revelivent on obits to obtain documents. also the archives are posting info bmd's less than 99 years. searching: DODDS, MANN, LAWRENCE,HUGHES, WEST, CORBETT.
