Good Day I have a lot of pioneer McCormick relatives, and other McCormick(mack)relatives that are decendants of my pioneer McCormicks, who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary just north of Durham Ontario in Bentinck Township. I have found most of my McCormick, Stewart, McLean, McEachern, McKinnon, and McPhail relatives in Glenelg and in Bentinck Townships. However, there are a few McCormick pioneer relatives that I know of, but can't find where they are buried. From land records and an agricultural census that I have read, two members of the McCormicks who lived in the Rocky community are either I figure, buried on their land(which I am aware of the locations of their homestead lots) or who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary. I have a copy of, and have read the Farmlanes Of Bentinck Book. In the section regarding graveyards, it lists names of people who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary with gravestones, but NOT the people whose broken gravestones are in the carin. Like most of my McCormick relatives that I have just mentioned, I believe that these few McCormicks that I am looking for, could be there in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary and maybe their gravestones could be in the carin. Here are the possibilities that I am considering, regarding these McCormick relatives that I am still looking for: 1. The two of them(and maybe with other members of their families that I am not aware of) are buried there and never had a stone gravestone. 2. Due to the fact that they died in the 1840's, they may have had a wooden cross on their graves and never a stone one. 3. THEY DID RECEIVE A GRAVESTONE AT SOME POINT, AND THEIR BROKEN GRAVESTONES ARE WITH THE OTHER BROKEN GRAVESTONES IN THE CARIN, AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE ROCKY PIONEER CEMETARY. I will be contacting the Historical Society shortly to find out if there is a list of names of the gravestones that are in the carin. The carin was established in 1967. I find it hard to believe that there would not be an existing list, with the names of early pioneers and others, whose broken gravestones are in the carin. Various people including myself might find some relatives that we are still looking for. Can anyone help me with this please? It would be greatly appreciated. Also, if the list exists, could it be posted on this web site? It could help people who are looking for their relatives gravestones. Sincerely, Sandy
