    3. I have had two requests for lookups on Lunney, so thought I would post them here, so that the two individuals could make contact with each other. Page 182: Lot 45, Concession 3 WGR: The west part went to William Lunney in 1892, Alfred Ashley in 1912 and to Herbert Hopkins and Leslie Varge in 1918. Page 446: Lot 25, Concession 5 NDR: 1904: William Lunney (110 acres) 1904: Crown to John Redford 1907: Alfred Redford Page 487: Lot 28, Concession 6 NDR: 1858: Crown to Allan McDougall (100 acres) 1880: Neil McDougall 1904: Daniel McDougall (150 acres with east half Lot 27) 1904: Malcolm McCallum 1915: Benjamin Hopkins 1917: Findlay mcCauig 1918: William Lunney 1938: Spencer Hopkins 1957: James David Hopkins Page 506: Lot 22, Concession 7 NDR: Irwin Brown was the son of William Brown and Susan Adlam. Irwin married Emily "Emma" Mighton. Their family included: George who married Irene MacDonald (Lot 19, Con. 6 NDR); Mildred who married William Lunney (Saskatchewan) and Maurice. Page 725: Durham Cemetery, Maple Section: Row 13: James Lunney died April 3, 1893 at age 73 years, 10 months, 18 days; also his wife Fanny Donnelly died March 15, 1907 at age 84 years; also a son, William Lunney died March 7, 1907 at age 62 years. Page 734: Durham Cemetery, Pine Section: Row 12: William Lunney (1850-1934); also his wife Jane Mullen (1857-1889); also his wife Elizabeth Warren (1858-1929); also two infants, Herbert and Walter. Page 179: Lot 42, Concession 3 WGR: The Crown Patent was taken by John Kay on July 8, 1863. In January 1879, Frederick Lunney paid $1,200 for the 100 acres less the road allowance, and in July 1892, the farm passed to James Lunney for $2000. Page 504: Lot 17, Concession 7 NDR: John Cooper Johnston (1849-1892) farmed 90 acres of Lot 17 and established the Lamlash General Store on Lot 15. He had married Margaret Lunney (1851-1926), the daughter of James Lunney and Frances Donnelly. There were nine in the family: William; John James (b. 1872) who married Elizabeth Minter (1876-1904) of Lamlash and later Edmonton; Margaret; Rachel Sophia who married William John Cringle (Mount Forest); Eliza Jane who married John Lowe (Hamilton); Catherine; Ellen; Frederick; and George Cooper who married Helen "Nellie" Lynn. Page 129: John Lunney is listed as the teacher at SS No. 10 from 1907-1908 and 1910. Page 481: John Lunney is among a list of teachers at S.S. No 6 Bentinck (Mulock School), but no date is given. Page 458: George Lunney is among a list of teachers at Habermehl School, but no date is given. Page 566: George Lunney is among a list of teachers at Elmwood Red Brick School during the period 1880-1913. Page 823: Elmwood Cemetery: Bertram W. , son of Margaret and George Lunney) was born May 29, 1887 and died February 16, 1900; also Pte. Robert E. Lunney (#794713 of 38th Battalion CEF), died February 15, 1922. Page 536: Lot 26, Concession 8 NDR: On May 31, 1967, the north 80 acres were purchased by Dorothy and Keith Lunney for $14,000. On December 15, 1977, the present owners, Lois and Harold McKnight purchased the 80 acres from Dorothy Lunney. I cross-referenced Private Robert E. Lunney to the National Archives' database for the Canadian Expeditionary Force. His service number was 724713, vs. the number quoted in the cemetery transcription. It gives his mother as Margaret Lunney of Elmwood, Ontario, but his present address upon enlistment was 81 Robert Street, Toronto. His date of birth is given as November 17, 1890 and is a carpenter by trade. He enlisted January 10, 1916. His full document is available at the National Archives' site.
