    3. Dear Friends, Bill Lawson's book, "A Register of Emigrant Families from the Western Isles of Scotland to Ontario, Canada / Part 1: Bruce, Grey & Huron Counties, etc.," shows, on p. 11: John JOHNSON, 1806-???? Grimsay Island, Benbecula [Scotland] Kirsty [i.e. Christy] (surname unknown), 1806-???? John, 1828 -???? Mary, 1830-???? Sam[uel], 1834-???? Ranald, 1835-???? Donald, 1839-???? "John Johnston and family emigrated from Grimsay in c1849 and settled in Glenelg Township, Grey County" The above names, etc., come from the 1841 census in Scotland, and, Lawson says, the 1861 census of Ontario. I can only find the two brothers, Ronald (age 26) and Donald (age 22), living together in Glenelg in 1861 [p. 38, lines 11-12], Roman Catholics, farmers, living in a log house. Where are the rest of the family? And what happened to Ronald and Donald? And does anyone know the maiden surname of their mother, Christy? Does anyone connect to this family or know anything about them? George Sanborn
