Hi Tom, There are many "Bowles" (Pronounced Bowls as in a Bowl of soup) as well as "Bowler"'s from Artemesia. I am not related to the Bowles (connected in a very far far manner though) but found much in one of my history books on them, including some photo's. Both Bowler's and Bowels appear in Artemesia but are two different families. Do you want Bowler or Bowels? I live relatively close to many Artemesia/Euphrasia landmarks named after those families. i.e. Bowles Bluff, Bowles Hill and Bowles Gully. I found much info in my Artemesia history book. If you do not have a copy of this book I am willing to copy some info down for you. I do suggest if you can, or live nearby, you should purchase this book. It is well written and contains a fair amount of info on the Bowles family. I believe the Grey County Archives still has some for sale.
