Hi, I have sort of a geographical question for someone who may know the exact locations of Lots and Concessions. For example, in 1865-66, would Concession 1 Lot 25 (EGR) Holland Township be physically near Concession 1 Lot 25 of Sullivan Township? Would they be neighbours, within walking distance or on completely different sides of the County? Im trying to connect the Hagen family of Con. 1 Lot 25 Holland Twp. with the Charles Mortley family of Con. 1 Lot 25 of Sullivan Twp. Any advice on this would be appreciated, Thanks, Kimberly Muldoon-Staley
Hello Kimberly I believe they would be within walking distance. Depending on where the houses were located exactly how far they would walk but both townships count concessions from what is now Highway 6. Go to www.greycounty.ca/maps and select the gis maps - then interactive then query by lot and concession. You will see how close each property is. They would be near neighbours, perhaps living across the road from each other.
