Hi List, Is anyone working on this family? I found a baptism for Janet daughter of John and Janet, born 1859. It gave her mother as Janet, no maiden name. Perhaps they should also look at the 1861 Bentinck census to see if they can find the family and if the mother is still alive at that point. I imagine the date of that census was before the marriage of John Proctor and Margaret Sutherland October 19, 1861. On the 1881 census, Sarah Ann, or whoever gave the info to the enumerator, said Sarah Ann was born in Ontario and she is 5 years older than Janet so perhaps they were back and forth to the US, or perhaps Sarah was also born in the US and the 1881 census info is incorrect.
