Please forgive me, if I don't recall the title of the book accurately - the title of it was something to the effect of "In Our Own Words" (unless I'm thinkin of another book entirely). It was a fairly large publication that I found in the Wiarton library on a visit a year or so ago. I recall reading in the front of the book that it would be much too costly to print it in hardcover. The topic was the natives of the area and included some JONES family. I know when I see the title it will be clear... Does anyone know if and how I can purchase a copy of this book - looking ahead at Christmas for my mother-in-law. If her publications are still for sale, can someone share the titles with me as I believe there is at least one more she has had on her wish list. Thanks in advance... Jan

Hi Janet: I know you are wanting to purchase the book but for those who might like to borrow some of her books, the National Library of Canada has a number of them. There are a number of hits for Croft, Melba at the National Library of Canada Search page: http://amicus.collectionscanada.ca/aaweb-bin/aamain/basic_search?sessionKey=1137859341020_66_222_164_223&l=0&v=0&lvl=1 Change the drop-down box to Name Browse and in the box beside that type in Croft, Melba then click submit. There are 15 results that come up for her. Click on her name to see the records. On the results page, click on each book title to find out the info on it. The first section, NLC Copies will tell you how many copies they have and beside each entry for that if it says No ILL then you can't borrow it but if there is nothing written at the end of each line then it can be borrowed on ILL through your local library. If you find one you want to borrow, copy and paste the full info about the book onto a blank sheet of paper and take it in to your library and they will request it from the Nat'l Library or a library closer to you. A lot of them are not available for ILL but the ones that I found that look like they are available are: A port of some importance : Owen Sound, Canada, 1845-1984 / Melba Morris Croft Fourth entrance to Huronia : the history of Owen Sound / by Melba Morris Croft - paperback Growth of a country town : Owen Sound 1900-1920 / by Melba Morris Croft - copy 2 Renewal of a Canadian port : Owen Sound on Georgian Bay - copy 2 Tall tales and legends of the Georgian Bay - copy 2 Tall tales and legends of the Georgian Bay. Volume II In their own words : 1626-1994 : the story of Ontario and Quebec but in particular about the Georgian Bay Recipes from Grandma's files - copy 2 Memories of Brooke : Nawash, Brookefield, Brookeholm, Brooke, Owen Sound North, Owen Sound As I said, print off each book's page info, take it to your library and ask them to please try to get them on ILL. You may not get all of them but it's worth a shot! Marg in Sunny Alberta Janet Iles wrote: >Hello Janet > >The following is the catalogue record for the book you are asking about.
