    3. Hi Bev, I'll begin this by letting you know that Simcoe, Ontario isn't in Grey County, but Norfolk County. It's a lovely community (I have family that recently moved to the area). At any rate, I looked to see if I could find anything on the Kniffen family for you. I found the birth registration for one of David's siblings, born in Norfolk County. Ontario, Canada Births, 1869-1907 Record Name: Thomas Roy Kniffen Date of Birth: 3 Mar 1900 Gender: Male Birth County: Norfolk Father's Name: Francis Roy Kniffen Mother's Name: Ella Louisa Haskett Roll Number: MS929_151 This looks like the family here in the 1901 census (District: NORFOLK (South/Sud) #94; Subdistrict: Woodhouse I-1 Page 5): Kniffen Francis B, Male, Head, Married, D.O.B: Feb 10 1876, age 25 Kniffen Nellie L, Female, Wife ,Married, D.O.B: May 14 1874, age 26 Kniffen Pearl G, Female, Daughter, Single, D.O.B: Jun 18 1897, age 3 Kniffen Roy T, Male, Son, Single, D.O.B: Mar 3 1900, age 1 I couldn't find anything on the 1911 census, so either the tradegy occurred prior to then, or the family left Canada.
