    1. English THOMPSONs in Grey County

    3. Hi Listers I thought there might be some Grey County THOMPSON family researchers out there who would be interested in the following information. The THOMPSON family I'm referring to were originally English from Lincolnshire with possibly Yorkshire branches as well. Several of these THOMPSONs emigrated to Darlington Township, Durham County, Ontario, in the first half of the 19th century. They then re-located to Scugog Island, and some show up in Euphrasia Township, Grey County, from the 1870s. After that, branches moved to Moosomin Saskatchewan, Michigan and other parts of the USA, and eventually Vancouver, BC. In 1983, a lady named Viola L. YOUNG privately published a history of this THOMPSON family. Her approximately 350-page book "The Thompson Family History" is available for free downloading at the following web site: http://thompsonfamily.pbwiki.com/ This web site is used by a group of THOMPSON family researchers. Feel free to access it, and download the book (.pdf or .doc formats) if it might help you with your research. We are always interested in hearing from others who are related to or are researching this THOMPSON family. ........ Jack
