    2. Tom Laporte
    3. Just a quick question if anyone knows a G. Dickson who is researching several surnames in Ontario. There is also mention of a G. Murphy connected to this research. There is a mention by a G. Dickson at http://www.uftree.com/UFT/WebPages/gdickson/DAWN/d0/i0000117.htm#i117 for a William Lytle Spears married to an Isabella Bowles and with two children: Julia May Spears m. Adelbert Huston Smith and Sarah Elizabeth Spears m. George Hamilton Smith I am trying very hard to trace a missing Isabella Bowles born the same year (1857) as this one but cannot find any record of these references and so would very much like to hear from G. Dickson. Does anyone know him/her?

    3. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with the postal or e-mail address for St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Durham. I have not bee able to find it in any directories. I may as well mention that I am trying to locate burial records for St. Paul's R.C.Cemetery in Dornoch. I have been in contact and transferred to many people, but no one seems to know where these records are located. My last call told me they are at St. Peter's in Durham, but I have called there a few times with no answer. I have been through the cemetery transcriptions, but what I am seeking is not there. I believe many of my ancestors may be buried there, but there are no stones. I know for sure of 2 ancestors buried there with no stones, so I am sure there are probably more. Any help would be much appreciated. Kimberly Muldoon-Staley

    3. This is from my Bentinck History Book "Farm Lanes of Bentinck 1850 - 2000" In the Hanover Cemetery located at lot 1 Conc.2 SDR at Row 20 Section 5 the following is stated: "William Kirstine (1864 - 1950); also his wife Martha Rowland or Rowand (1867 - 1947) ". I can only assume it was perhaps a written error as I'm sure the stone did not read "Rowland or Rowand" I hope that is what you were looking for, David W. 3. Hi Steve. There appears to be no mention of an Owen Sound Hockey team in my books between those dates. I have also checked my "History of Derby Township, 1839 - 1972", there is a chapter on sports and mentions Hockey however nothing relating to your grandfather. Was your Grandfather a member of the Owen Sound Greys hockey club? If so I'm sure you will find something somewhere. Perhaps try contacting the hockey club in Owen Sound as they still exist to this day and perhaps have some sort of collection built up over the years. Another option is to contact the Grey County Archives. Their Website is: http://www.greycounty.on.ca/archives/ Sorry I couldn't be of more help, David W. 3. Hi Tom, There are many "Bowles" (Pronounced Bowls as in a Bowl of soup) as well as "Bowler"'s from Artemesia. I am not related to the Bowles (connected in a very far far manner though) but found much in one of my history books on them, including some photo's. Both Bowler's and Bowels appear in Artemesia but are two different families. Do you want Bowler or Bowels? I live relatively close to many Artemesia/Euphrasia landmarks named after those families. i.e. Bowles Bluff, Bowles Hill and Bowles Gully. I found much info in my Artemesia history book. If you do not have a copy of this book I am willing to copy some info down for you. I do suggest if you can, or live nearby, you should purchase this book. It is well written and contains a fair amount of info on the Bowles family. I believe the Grey County Archives still has some for sale. Here is their website: http://www.greycounty.on.ca/archives/ Please let me know if you need some info from the book. If so, please indicate what it is your looking for or who. Thanks, David W. Good Day I have a lot of pioneer McCormick relatives, and other McCormick(mack)relatives that are decendants of my pioneer McCormicks, who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary just north of Durham Ontario in Bentinck Township. I have found most of my McCormick, Stewart, McLean, McEachern, McKinnon, and McPhail relatives in Glenelg and in Bentinck Townships. However, there are a few McCormick pioneer relatives that I know of, but can't find where they are buried. From land records and an agricultural census that I have read, two members of the McCormicks who lived in the Rocky community are either I figure, buried on their land(which I am aware of the locations of their homestead lots) or who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary. I have a copy of, and have read the Farmlanes Of Bentinck Book. In the section regarding graveyards, it lists names of people who are buried in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary with gravestones, but NOT the people whose broken gravestones are in the carin. Like most of my McCormick relatives that I have just mentioned, I believe that these few McCormicks that I am looking for, could be there in the Rocky Pioneer Cemetary and maybe their gravestones could be in the carin. Here are the possibilities that I am considering, regarding these McCormick relatives that I am still looking for: 1. The two of them(and maybe with other members of their families that I am not aware of) are buried there and never had a stone gravestone. 2. Due to the fact that they died in the 1840's, they may have had a wooden cross on their graves and never a stone one. 3. THEY DID RECEIVE A GRAVESTONE AT SOME POINT, AND THEIR BROKEN GRAVESTONES ARE WITH THE OTHER BROKEN GRAVESTONES IN THE CARIN, AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE ROCKY PIONEER CEMETARY. I will be contacting the Historical Society shortly to find out if there is a list of names of the gravestones that are in the carin. The carin was established in 1967. I find it hard to believe that there would not be an existing list, with the names of early pioneers and others, whose broken gravestones are in the carin. Various people including myself might find some relatives that we are still looking for. Can anyone help me with this please? It would be greatly appreciated. Also, if the list exists, could it be posted on this web site? It could help people who are looking for their relatives gravestones. Sincerely, Sandy
