Hello John, I was looking for some info on my Gillespie family in Sullivan Township and came across a Charles Critchley. He is listed under magistrates and municipal officers. Try the following link and see if this is your fellow. I have an obit from the Christian Guardian for a Matthew Duxbury, who died 4 Nov. 1860 in St. Vincent. He was listed as a local preacher on the St. Vincent Mission. He was a native of Lancashire, England born in 1777 and emigrated to Canada in 1841. The obit was written in Meaford, Nov. 17, 1860 by E. Hurlburt. I am trying to make a connection with the Nathan Duxbury family who lived on Duxbury sideroad. Joyce

Hi, I posted a message some months ago when I first tracked down where in North America, Charles Critchley settled when he emigrated from England- it was Sullivan Township. I had a number of very helpful replies and have now found his son moved to Addington Co then on to Timiskimming - Thanks everyone for your help then. I believe the family are buried in Chatsworth Anglian Cemetery. Does anyone on the list have access to the burial records or the cemetery? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks John Irving Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK
Charles Kenny (1783 or 1794 - 1864) and his wife Ann (abt 1801-1869) emigrated from Ireland to Canada in 1835. Ann was born in Co. Cavan. They were married in 1824 in Ireland. They were Wesleyan Methodists. Their children born in Ireland were: Isabella, Matilda, George (1824-1902), Margaret (1831-1914) and Anne (b. 1833). Their children born in Canada were: Samuel (1837-1904), Sarah and Charles. They settled first in Clarke Twp., Durham Co., Ontario and moved about 1848 to Collingwood Twp., Grey Co., Ontario. I have a very tenuous lead suggesting that they were living in the Townland of Teurerehan, Annageliff Parish, Upper Loughtee Barony, Co. Cavan close to the border with Co. Longford in 1821. Hello list, I am new to this list and hope I have chosen the right one, i.e. county. I am looking for a family with the surname Dickey. The daughter of one Joseph Dickey born in Adjala and Hannah McNab born Rosemount., was my great Aunt by marriage. Her name was Goldie Lena Dickey born July 21 1896 in Violet Hill Ont. and died May 23 1982 in White Rock B.C. She married Charles Ernest Byers of New Annan N.S. in 1940. I am trying to trace her family roots for my genealogy files. There seems to be also a connection to Regina Saskatchewan, although I am not sure what it is. Family members state they think Goldie and Charles were married in Regina but are not sure. Did Joseph & Hannah migrate West? Did they have other children? On Goldies death record it states her brother was her informant as (Charles had died years before her), but it doesn't give the brother's name. I found a Joseph Clifford Dickey, born Violet Hill Ont in 1893 and died in 1987 in White Rock B.C. I am thinking this may be a brother of Goldie as the birth place is too coincidental and the fact he died in the same place as she did, leaves me to believe this is the brother who was her informant on her death record. He was married in Regina Sask. another coincidence? Has anyone heard or know of this family? Any help appreciated. Penny Marte Suo Tutus

Hi Grey Co Listers, Would anyone have the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery transcriptions? I am looking for the BREEN family possibly buried there, and in particular, John BREEN who died about 1879-81 in Sarawak Twp and his wife Catherine BREEN who died sometime after 1881, in Derby. Also, I would be interested if anyone knows if the Wiarton Echo newspapers might have obituaries for Sarawak Twp back in the late 1800's. I did order the surname microfilms for my surnames, only $1.00, and they were most helpful. They just did not go back so far as I needed. Thanks for any help, Nancy Erb St. Clair Co, Michigan
