Thanks Annie & Muriel I have used the One World info on the Ancestry.com site but only as a guide to my own research. Most of the time it's to confirm what I already know. I had one birth in York that seemed to be wrong. I didn't know why this family would be in York to begin with and the name of the mother was wrong. I knew who the wife of this ancestor was and the baptismal record had the wrong name. I later discovered that this child was indeed a child of this couple. Either the baptismal record was wrong and put the child's name in instead of the mother's or the name used was a "nickname" of the mother. That means her name changed 3 times in 30 years. She started as Margaret on the marriage register, then Jemima on this baptism, then Mary Jane from 1860 on in census and on her death registration. Things that don't seem to fit I don't use... but I do make note of them in case I need to use them later.
