I am new to this list, hoping that someone might know of my family. I am looking for information of JAMES WARK born Donegal ? Ireland ca 1811. He had a sister Sarah, whom possibly married John McMARTIN. James married Mary Ann TERRY in 1847, Bathurst Dist.Village of Fitzroy. James made hand made shoes for the gentry of Ottawa.I know nothing of James parents..Mary Ann's mother's name was Lucy JOHNSTON. Mary Ann was a cousin to the famous DAME Ellen TERRY in England, James and Mary Ann's children; 1. Fredrick WARK, born June 1853, Arnprior, Ont.- married Mary Elizabeth C AITKEN 2.Harry WARK, born Sept.1850, Fitzroy Harbour- married Margaret C. LYSTER 3.Robert Louden- a bachelor 4.Sarah born 1852 at Fitzroy Harbour, married James THOMPSON-March 1887, in Manitoba. 5.Mary Ann- died in her early 20's of TB Looking at my records it appears that James was still at Fitzroy Harbour in 1881, he was later living with his son in 1907, Minto, Manitoba where he died. Mary Ann died shortly after childbirth at Fitzroy. I have not been able to find where she was buried, family rumour has it that she is buried with her infant daughter Jane. It would be wonderful if anyone can help me with my elusive James Wark and Mary Ann Terry... Cheryl Wark
