Hi Alice, I'm sorry Idon't have knowledge of the exact people you mention, but I can tell you there is a SMITH Road in Fitzroy twsp. It was a well know name there. They were catholics because my old parish priest at Our Lady of Fatima In Ottawa, was Father Smith, later Monsignor Smith ,who came from Fitzroy. His sister married a Dominique McEvoy. The Catholic church in Fitroy is St Michaels. I have photos of St. Michaels if you are interested, as well as other pictures of that area, and am willing to take more pictures. Hope this helps a bit.
