Dear Listers, I am at a loss as to how to find any record of my McEnerny family who I believe immigrated to Canada between 1852 and 1856. I do know that the youngest child, Catherine, was born on October 2, 1856, near Ottawa. The family immigrated again, down to the state of Ohio in 1864 according to census records (1900). Would someone have access to the 1861 census records for the area around Ottawa? I am unable to get to a family history center. Father's name was John, wife is Mary and both were born in Ireland. There are only two children that I know of: Michael b. 1846 in Ireland, and Catherine born 1856 near Ottawa. There are probably other children. There is possibly a son, John, born 1852 in Ireland but I have not been able to confirm that. I would deeply appreciate any assistance!!! Best Regards, Anne Marie

Annie: Go to the search engine for Web Site "Bytown or Bust" at http://www3.sympatico.ca/ag.lewis/search.htm Do a search for Mcenerny, then another search for Mcenerney. You'll find 'em there, along with other researchers for this family. ...
