    3. Hello Elaine: you could try the Anglican Church records. There are Moffatt's and Fannings both at the Anglican Church there in Carleton Place. -----Original Message----- From: Elaine Brown [mailto:etbrown@personainternet.com] Sent: Friday, January 06, 2006 7:32 PM To: CAN-ONT-CARLETON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [Can-Ont-Carleton] Douglas/Rogers families Marlborough Township from 1820s I'm currently researching the descendants of Samuel DOUGLAS b. 1795 & Sarah FANNING whose son Daniel married about 1850 CofE, Elizabeth ROGERS daughter of Henry & Ann Unknown. In the 1851 census Henry & Ann ROGERS have children Henry, Ann, Jane and Ellen and daughter Elizabeth DOUGLAS with her 1 yr old son Samuel living with them. By 1861 the head of household is Daniel DOUGLAS 1815-1914 who with wife Elizabeth have Samuel, Margaret, Sarah, Jane, Mary Ellen (Abraham WILSON) and Eliza. Living with them as well are Henry & May DOUGLAS (Rogers???) and Samuel & Sarah DOUGLAS. The family continues on the farm until about 1885 when Samuel 1852-1922 who has married in 1877 Margaret GORMAN daughter of James & Margaret BRESLIN (Ottawa, Beckwith) moves to Carleton Place, Lanark Co. Their daughter Adeline 'Ada' m. 1901 George R.A. MORRISON and moves to Hamilton; Wellington m. 1908 Margaret ROBINSON and moves to Perth; Russell 'Howard' m. 1903 Hannah Maritta PRICE; Bower single moves to Hamilton and Ernest single stays in Carleton Place. Wellington DOUGLAS 1879-1950 who was superintendant of the Code Felt Co. and a one-time Mayor of Perth m. 1908 Margaret ROBINSON daughter of Hugh & Kezia BURTON. Their children were Jean m. C.A. MENZIES; Margaret m. Carl MACDONALD; Arnold m. Margaret KERR; Hugh m. Dorothy LAROCQUE, Violet FERGUSON; Les m. Doris MOFFATT and Dorothy m. James WALKER, Keith CAVANAGH. I'm trying to link all the Douglas families within the townships of Beckwith & Montague, Lanark Co. and Marlborough, Carleton Co. and think there is a relationship but need confirming evidence. Please contact me if you recognize this family. Elaine ==== CAN-ONT-CARLETON Mailing List ==== No more census petitions needed!!
